Sustainability

Supporting greener fresh produce distribution.

Notre Verger Ltée is committed to building a smarter and more sustainable fresh produce supply chain. By using solar panels to generate part of our electricity, we reduce reliance on conventional energy sources and support cleaner operations across our storage and distribution activities.

Real steps — not unsupported claims.

Solar panels in operation

Solar panels generate part of the electricity used across our facilities — directly reducing reliance on conventional grid energy for our cold storage and operational equipment.

Cleaner cold-storage

Cold storage is energy-intensive by nature. By supporting it with solar generation and considered equipment use, we are building a lower-impact cold chain over time.

Responsible energy use

An ongoing focus on how energy is used across receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch — keeping the produce chain efficient, not just powered.

A long-term commitment

Sustainability is not a campaign for us — it is a long-term direction for how a Mauritian fresh produce house should operate. We will report changes as they happen.

A produce supply chain that is more sustainable is also, generally, a more disciplined one. Tighter cold chains, less waste, cleaner energy, and longer-lived equipment serve the same goal — getting the right item, in the right condition, to the right kitchen.

A note on claims

We say what we do — not what we don't.

Sustainability is a long road, and we are honest about where we are on it. Notre Verger does not claim to be a fully carbon-neutral operation. What we can say is straightforward: solar panels generate part of our electricity, our cold-storage operations benefit from it, and we are committed to extending greener practices across our supply activities as we grow.

If you are a procurement team with specific sustainability requirements for your suppliers, we are happy to discuss our approach in detail and document what we can.
